Haley Atwell and James D’Arcy can’t even stand to look at each other in this exclusive clip from the set of Agent Carter season 2.
The behind-the-scenes footage previews an interview with the two stars of the upcoming season. Never a pair to miss the opportunity for a joke, Atwell and D’Arcy spend the time conjuring an epic fictional feud that leaves them unable to communicate directly.
James D’Arcy channels some of Jarvis’ stuffiness in the faux interview, insisting that Atwell not look at him. For her part, Atwell gets fairly Peggy-ish in her exasperated, sarcastic response.
“Could you tell James that I’m actually looking at the flamingo on his shoulder, and not him?” she says — to which D’Arcy has the perfect answer.
“Please tell Hayley that if she is looking at my flamingo, then I will sue,” he says primly.
But it’s the flamingo who wins the war in this behind-the-scenes clip. Toppling off it’s wire in D’Arcy’s hands, the pink creature’s collapse breaks the composure of both actors, leaving them giddy with laughter.
Agent Carter season 2 finally premieres tomorrow, and will treat fans with plenty of Hayley Atwell and James D’Arcy’s firecracker chemistry. (For a few more hints, check out our review of the premiere.) The first episode of season 2 is titled “The Lady in the Lake.”
“Peggy moves to the City of Angels,” ABC says, “to help Chief Daniel Sousa at the West Coast Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) investigate a bizarre homicide involving an alleged killer and Isodyne Energy, and reunites with some familiar faces.”
The second episode, also airing tomorrow night, is titled “A View in the Dark.”
“Peggy discovers her murder investigation has huge ramifications that can destroy her career, as well as everyone near and dear to her,” the network teases — leaving us to wonder just how dark Agent Carter season 2 will eventually become.
Agent Carter season 2 premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 9:00 p.m. on ABC.
