Very bad news, Peggy Carter fans: Agent Carter has been canceled at ABC.

The network has made a final decision about Agent Carter, and it’s not good: The show has been canceled amidst underwhelming ratings. The two-season series starred Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter and James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis. It was ABC’s second Marvel series following the success of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Peggy Carter made an appearance in Captain America: Civil War earlier this month. In hindsight, her scene (which we won’t spoil here) foreshadowed what was to come for the character’s show. Too soon? Sorry.

The proof concerning Agent Carter’s demise may’ve been in the pudding for a couple of months. In February ABC ordered a pilot starring Hayley Atwell called Conviction, and today the network announced that the show has been ordered to series. So you’ll still get your Atwell fill on ABC, but she won’t be donning Peggy’s red hat. According to a synopsis for the show, Conviction “tells the story of Carter Morrison, the brilliant but ne’er-do-well daughter of a former President, who is blackmailed into taking a job as the head of Los Angeles’ newly created Conviction Integrity Unit. She, along with her team of lawyers, investigators and forensic experts, work together to examine cases where there’s credible suspicion that the wrong person may have been convicted of a crime.”

Here’s the trailer:

Agent Carter wasn’t the only show that got the axe today: Castle (eight seasons), The Muppets (one season), Galavant (two seasons), and Nashville (four seasons) were also canceled.

Update: The S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff Marvel’s Most Wanted starring characters Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood will not move forward at ABC. This was the network’s second attempt at ordering it to series.

In more delightful news, ABC renewed American Crime, The Real O’Neals, and The Catch today.
