Good news for fans who’ve fallen in love with Netflix’s After Life!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the online streaming giant has officially picked up the dark comedy for a second season.

In a statement announcing the renewal, Netfix’s Ted Sarandos spoke of how thrilled he is that the series will be continuing on.

After Life has moved audiences from laughter to tears around the world and we are thrilled to announce that Ricky Gervais will be back with a second season on Netflix,” said Sarandos. “We are so proud to play host to Ricky’s brilliant stand-up comedy, specials, original films, and series and join in the joy of the fans with his latest hit.”

Gervais plays lead character Tony on the hit half-hour dark comedy — a man whose life begins to spiral downward after his wife, Lisa, suddenly dies.

The British comedic actor, who also wrote and directed season 1, has already started writing the show’s second season, which will premiere via Netflix sometime in 2020.

As with season 1, the series’ forthcoming season will be comprised of six half-hour long episodes.

To celebrate the good news, Netflix took to Twitter to share bloopers for the series’ first season with fans far and wide.
