During his press tour for The BFG, Steven Spielberg talked to New Zealand’s Stuff Magazine about some of the upcoming projects for his production company, Amblin Entertainent.

During the interview, he revealed that his friend and colleague Peter Jackson is still on board to direct a sequel to 2011’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. It will just take some time for him to get to it, however, because he’s working on another project for Amblin, details of which both Spielberg and the production company would rather not reveal.

“Peter [Jackson] was so busy with The Hobbit that it took him away from Tintin and he’s doing another film for my company now,” Spielberg said.

“It’s a secret nobody knows about. Then after that he’ll do Tintin.”

While the media is (understandably) choosing to focus on this upcoming “secret” project of Jackson’s, those of us who grew up with Tintin and enjoyed the first movie have been waiting eagerly for news of a sequel. The first Tintin cinematic outing, a computer-animated family adventure based on a comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé, did not do great the U.S.A. — garnering only about $77.6M from the domestic market — but it did fairly good business from foreign markets, leading to a $374M worldwide total. It was also well-received by critics, achieving a Certified Fresh rating of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Secret of the Unicorn was directed by Spielberg and produced by Jackson, from a script by Joe Cornish and Edgar Right (of Ant-Man fame), along with Doctor Who‘s Steven Moffat. Spielberg and Jackson had a deal that they would switch the directing and producing duties for subsequent sequels, therefore Jackson is expected to direct the next installment, tentatively titled The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun.
