Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have reunited for a third romantic comedy, this time in the form of Blended, the trailer for which has just been released.

With much more respected films in their past in The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates, the question will be whether Sandler and Barrymore can capture that magic, or if the film will fizzle out like many of Sandler’s more recent films.

Blended finds Sandler and Barrymore together on an African safari, as the setting is interesting, but does anything else look solid? Decide for yourself with the trailer below:

The jokes look oddly slapstick and out of place, particularly when you consider Sandler and Barrymore’s early comedy together. While the location is interesting and new, the trailer doesn’t appear to take much advantage of it, save for a few mildly racist jokes. Apart from that, it appears to be more of the same from Sandler and company, who have rattled off a string of lackluster comedies of late, far removed from the Happy Madison glory days.

Blended is directed by frequent Sandler collaborator Frank Coraci (Click), and co-stars Terry Crews, Joel McHale and Kevin Nealon. You can read the full synopsis below:

After a disastrous blind date, single parents Lauren (Barrymore) and Jim (Sandler) agree on only one thing: they never want to see each other again. But when they each sign up separately for a fabulous family vacation with their kids, they are all stuck sharing a suite at a luxurious African safari resort for a week.
