Adam Nimoy will appear on The Big Bang Theory 9×07, along with frequent guest star Wil Wheaton.

The CBS comedy returns to its regular Thursday slot next week, and to celebrate, Adam Nimoy will guest star. Adam is the son of Leonard Nimoy, the legendary sci-fi actor best known for his role as Mr. Spock on Star Trek.

According to CBS, the episode, titled “The Spock Resonance,” will bring up emotional issues for several characters.

“While being interviewed for a documentary about Spock from “Star Trek,” Sheldon struggles to suppress his emotions about his recent break-up with Amy,” CBS says. “Also, Wolowitz and Bernadette butt heads over remodeling his childhood home.”

The documentary that brings Sheldon into contact with Adam Nimoy is actually a real-life project. Nimoy wrapped up a successful Kickstarter campaign for the film — titled “For the Love of Spock” — this summer, and continues to work on the “Spock Doc.”

Wil Wheaton will also return in “The Spock Resonance,” reprising his recurring role as Sheldon’s on-again, off-again nemesis Wil Wheaton.

Wheaton was last seen late last season in “The Fortification Implementation,” where he interacted mostly with Leonard and Penny. His appearance in The Big Bang Theory 9×07 will most likely put him in close quarters with Sheldon once again.

The Big Bang Theory 9×07, “The Spock Resonance,” airs on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
