New Line’s adaptation of the DC comic Shazam! has just added two more familiar face to its cast.

According to Variety, 13 Reasons Why and Riverdale actor Ross Butler has officially joined the cast of the upcoming superhero flick.

Based on the character created by C.C. Beck and Bill Parker in 1939, New Line’s film will center around a young boy named Bill Baston who has the ability to transform into an adult superhero.

So how does he make his big transformation? By saying the magic word, of course! When Billy says “Shazam!” he’s able to make the transformation and take on the powers of a very specific set of ancient gods.

The word itself is an acronym for the gods Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury, and the powers Billy possesses are derived from those specific figures.

Butler isn’t the only new face attached to the upcoming movie.

Den of Geek reports that The O.C. alumn Adam Brody has also signed on to co-star in New Line’s DC adaptation.

Unfortunately, the studio has yet to shed light on which roles Butler and Brody will be playing in the movie.

Both actors join previously announced cast members Asher Angel and Zachary Levi, who will play Billy, and Billy’s adult superhero alter ego respectively.

The film is also set to star Jack Dylan Grazer (It) as Billy’s best friend Freddy, and Grace Fulton as another one of Billy’s buddies.
Meanwhile, Mark Strong is rumored to be playing the film’s big villain, though as with Brody and Butler’s casting, Strong’s role on the film has yet to be confirmed.

Shazam! is slated to open in theaters on April 5, 2019.
