ABC Family’s new original series Ravenswood debuted its first official trailer today with the first footage available.

The trailer explains why Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) moves to Ravenswood from Pretty Little Liars’ Rosewood. It appears that one of the tombstones in Ravenswood’s cemetery looks just like him. For a character who has tried to find out more about his roots throughout Pretty Little Liars, this seems like a compelling enough reason for Caleb to stick around awhile. The remaining characters are not introduced by the trailer, but are easy to pick out based on previous news. Remy (Britne Oldford) explains that “there is a different kind of normal in this town” which is followed by images of spooky manors, similar to Psycho or The Twilight Zone.

Several mysteries are underway in Ravenswood with Miranda (Nicole Gale Anderson) badgering her uncle about her abandonment and is seen attacked by a creeping figure. Meanwhile, twins Olivia (Merritt Patterson) and Luke (Brett Dier) have to deal with their mother’s reputation as a black widow. Romance, danger, and secrets look to affect all five stars as they attempt to solve the mystery of their fate. It looks to have an even darker tone than Marlene King’s flagship series Pretty Little Liars.
