ABC Family continues to expand its original programming by picking up two more young adult novels for development, Juliet Immortal and Recovery Road. Last they picked Barry Lyga’s I Hunt Killers.

As home of successful adaptions for both Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game there is no doubt why ABC Family is picking more young adult novels to bring to the small screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, their recent choices bring something new to the table. Juliet Immortal, written by Stacey Jay, focuses on love gone wrong as Juliet is murdered by her Romeo so he can live forever. The joke is on Romeo however when Juliet is given eternal existence in order to thwart his attempts at destroying true love. It certainly has potential on the small screen and Stacey will be adapting the novel herself.

Recovery Road by Blake Nelson is a slightly different story based on two teens that meet in rehab. The story focuses on the teens trying to recover and find solid ground for their relationship. The story takes place both in rehab and once they leave. The project hails from Pilgrim Studios, and a search is underway for a writer to pen the script.

ABC Family also has I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga and The Falls by Nicholas Sparks in development. The Falls also centers on a  Romeo and Juliet like love story minus the paranormal elements, so it will be interesting to see which one ABC Family goes with in the end.

What do you think about these possible new shows? Which one are you most looking forward to seeing?
