ABC Family has decided to cancel The Lying Game after one and a half seasons.

The Lying Game was based on a series of books by Sara Shepard, just like the hit show Pretty Little Liars.

It’s a shame because the show was getting really good and left off on a pretty epic cliffhanger that now will never be resolved.

They also had a talented cast, whose careers it will be interesting to follow – including Charisma Carpenter of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame, whose turn as a sinister character provided a great contrast to the ditzy Cordelia. Alexandra Chando did an impressive job playing TWO lead roles, the twins Emma and Sutton, and we can expect great things from her.

The show premiered back in August 2011. The Lying Game followed two twins named Emma and Sutton. Sutton was a spoiled brat who lived with a wealthy adopted family, while Emma was a sweet but downtrodden girl who had spent her life in dreadful foster homes.

Emma took Sutton’s place, unbeknownst to everyone else, while Sutton pursued the mystery of who their birth mother was. Things then got more and more convoluted with some suspicious murders, love triangles, and more people finding out about the twins.

Did you watch The Lying Game? Are you upset about its cancellation? ABC Family has an upsetting tendency to cancel shows abruptly and after huge cliffhangers. I will never trust them enough to start watching a new show of theirs.

Have you been burned too many times by ABC Family, or will you continue watching ABC Family shows in the hopes they won’t get suddenly cancelled?
