Daveed Diggs will be producing a series for ABC that couldn’t be any more perfect for the Hamilton star.

ABC has been ordering new pilots left and right recently — 10 total, so far, in fact. That 10th one happens to be one that’s got a lot of people excited.

According to Variety, the comedy is currently untitled, but is about “an outspoken, idealistic rapper [who] runs for office as a publicity stunt and actually gets elected, then surprising everyone, including himself, when he has a natural knack for the job and slowly transforms City Hall.”

Diggs recently had a run on ABC’s Black-ish, which may have led him to hooking up with the studio to make this series. We already know he can sing, dance, rap, and act, so there’s really nothing left to lose by putting all their chips on him. This is bound to be a hit with him in the executive producer’s chair.

Jeremy Bronson created the project and will executive produce alongside Diggs. They will be joined by Jamie Tarses, Scott Stuber, and James Griffiths, the latter of which will direct the pilot.

Editor’s Note: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated Daveed Diggs was starring in, not producing, the series.
