He’s a Breaking Bad fan favorite, and now Aaron Paul says he’s very interested in joining the show’s spinoff, Better Call Saul.

While speaking with Access Hollywood to promote his new movie Need For Speed, Paul revealed that he’s had “serious talks” with Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan about the forthcoming prequel starring colorful lawyer Saul Goodman.

“Anything Vince is involved with, I’m there,” says Paul. “I owe him my entire career. And the idea of jumping into the skin of Jesse Pinkman again in his lighter days — because it’s all a prequel — it would be fun.”

It would be interesting to see how Jesse Pinkman could be inserted into the show, because as far as we know the two characters were not regularly involved with one another until the events that take place in Breaking Bad (save for Jesse’s awareness of the lawyer).

With that said, we wouldn’t mind if Better Call Saul rewrote history a bit so that Jesse and the lawyer knew one another before they both met Walter White.

In related news, Breaking Bad co-star Dean Norris says that he probably will not return to the show despite being a DEA agent that Saul could frequently spar with if he came back. “I think that experience was that experience,” he said. “I’m not a big fan of kind of revisiting something that has already been done. But I think it’s going to be awesome. So I can’t wait to see it.” Norris is also tied up with CBS’ Under the Dome.

So far the only two actors who’ve officially joined Better Call Saul are the titular character himself and Breaking Bad’s Mike played by Jonathan Banks.

The show will premiere later this year on AMC. Thanks to Access Hollywood for the quotes.
