The first trailer for Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West gives fans an idea of just how ridiculous this film will be.

Family Guy and Ted creator Seth MacFarlane has directed his first western and it’s all about people dying in incredible fashion. Watch the first trailer for the film below, which includes Charlize Theron, Neil Patrick Harris, Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson.

In what appears to be a modernized western, A Million Ways to Die in the West’s first trailer finally gives us an idea of what this film will be like. The cast is insanely impressive and was featured in eight character posters released by MacFarlane yesterday on Twitter.

They all look really great in typical western attire, and we’re excited to find out how this film pans out. The cast also includes Liam Neeson, Sarah Silverman, and Giovanni Ribisi. Check out the synopsis for A Million Ways to Die in the West in case the trailer wasn’t clear enough:

After a cowardly sheep farmer backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.

A Million Ways to Die in the West is the second film directed by MacFarlane. It’s both a western and a comedy, and if there’s anyone that can make that work, well, it’s MacFarlane. His first film, Ted, would go on to be the highest grossing original R-rated comedy ever. The film is set to be released on May 30, 2014.
