The first teaser trailer for Bruce Willis’ return as John McClane in A Good Day to Die Hard has landed online, giving a good look at the action we can expect to see from this fifth installment in the Die Hard franchise.

As it’s a teaser trailer, there isn’t a whole lot of Bruce Willis face time yet, but it definitely appears as if this will be as action-packed as ever. Take a look at the trailer below, courtesy of Yahoo!.

Directed by John Moore (Max Payne, Behind Enemy Lines) from a script by Skip Woods (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), A Good Day to Die Hard puts McClane on an international stage — truly a NYC fish out of water in Moscow — and introduces his estranged son Jack. An apple that has not fallen far from the tree, Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father. Despite their differences, they must work together to keep each other alive — and the world safe for democracy.

This marks the first time McClane must fight overseas, which is an interesting switch, but it’s unclear whether that would work considering how past installments were successful. Cole Hauser (Good Will Hunting), Sebastian Koch (The Lives of Others), Russian actress Yulia Snigir and more co-star, although their exact roles aren’t yet certain. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is also reportedly set to reappear as Lucy McClane, but it’s possible that may be nothing more than a cameo.

Willis definitely looks to be bringing back some of the classic McClane traits, which is definitely promising. However it will be interesting to see how this all changes, for better or for worse, with the addition of his son. The dynamic will definitely change things, but we’ll have to wait until Valentine’s Day 2013 to find out how.
