Promotion for The Divergent Series: Insurgent (yes that’s the official title) begins today!

Lionsgate announced Tuesday morning that the Divergent sequel Insurgent will be hitting theaters in 2D and 3D, marking the first time a film in this series will be converted for the third dimension.

“The second film in the Divergent franchise takes the story and action to another level and, by partnering with RealD, we were able to blend gripping performances and mind-blowing spectacle to create a unique event on screen,” said producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher in a press release. “We cannot wait to share this experience with audiences around the world.”

In addition, eight character posters are debuting throughout the day. The first one featuring Caleb was released by MTV:

It was smart for Lionsgate to debut Caleb’s first. Actor Ansel Elgort is a huge start right now thanks to his gene pool and his great role in The Fault in Our Stars earlier this year.

Check back throughout the day for the latest character posters. We’re particularly excited to see Tris because it’ll be our first official look at the character’s new, short hair style.

Along with the aforementioned items, the studio released a new synopsis:

“The Divergent Series: Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.”

Insurgent hits theaters March 20, 2015.
