Defcon 1, people, this is not a drill. 30 Rock has sent out an official invitation for all of us to attend the wedding of Ms. Elizabeth Miervaldis Lemon (Tina Fey) and Mr. Crisstopher Rick Chross (James Marsden).

The full text of the invitation reads:

Ms. Elizabeth Miervaldis Lemon presents herself to be married to Mr. Crisstopher Rick Chross on Thursday the 29th of November 2012, at eight/seven central in the evening. But not in a creepy way that perpetuates the idea that brides are virgins and women are property. She’s 42. Whatever. It’s no big whoop. Bring your own snacks.

That’s how you do a wedding invite, Lemon-style.

It was previously announced that the November 29 seventh episode would be titled “Mozel Tov, Dummies” and would be featuring Dean Winters as Liz’s ex-boyfriend Dennis. Both that title and Dennis’ reappearance make a lot more sense now. Still, it remains to be seen what kind of role he would play. Likely not ring-bearer.

30 Rock has gotten a lot of comedic mileage out of Liz’s relative spinsterdom. But season 6 and 7 have both done a good job of putting Liz in a place where settling down was possible without robbing the show of any comedic opportunities. It certainly doesn’t hurt that James Marsden as Criss is clearly her best romantic option.

It should be a fun night of TV on November 29. This is uncharted territory for 30 Rock, but seven seasons without the show’s own wacky interpretation of a wedding just wasn’t going to cut it. Hopefully it will give Jack the opportunity to give unmarried Liz Lemon one last “Good God, Lemon” for old times’ sake.
