Mark Wahlberg and his Ted co-star have been confirmed to present at the 2013 Oscars later this month, as we can only assume some hysterical hijinks are planned.

In the official press release from The Acadmey, Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said, “We are happy to make it possible for Mark and Ted to make their debut appearance on the Oscar stage and we won’t deny that Ted used his pull with our host to get himself the booking.”

While this is certainly exciting news, we can’t exactly pretend to be surprised by the news, as this was likely Seth MacFarlane’s first idea when he came on board as Academy Awards host. Still, there are a whole number of options the show’s producers have with the duo, one can only hope they don’t go overboard with Ted and use him in numerous gags throughout the telecast.

“I’m excited to present an Oscar with Mark Wahlberg,” said Ted. “I’m spending the next month learning to pronounce ‘Quvenzhané.'”

Wahlberg and Ted are the first announced Oscars presenters, joining previously announced musical performers Adele, Norah Jones and Barbara Streisand on the telecast.

The 85th Academy Awards air Sunday, February 24, 2013 live on ABC at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST.
