The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced today that female funny ladies Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the 70th Annual Golden Globes on NBC.

Fey and Poehler are no strangers to the peacock network. Each has a show on NBC this season (30 Rock and Parks & Rec respectively). “Having both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on board to host this year’s festivities is a major coup,” said Paul Telegdy of NBC. “Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL to their successful co-starring roles in Baby Mama.”

Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Aida Takla-O’Reilly chimed in, “The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune-in to see them in action. The HFPA is thrilled to have the magnetic duo be a part of the show’s 70th anniversary!”

The nominations for this year’s awards will be revealed Thursday, December 13. Fey and Poehler have worked together over the years, and this may be one of their best collaborations yet. Comedian Ricky Gervais hosted the past two Golden Globes ceremonies.

It was exactly two weeks ago when we learned that fellow entertainer Seth MacFarlane would helm the 2013 Academy Awards.
