The Lizzie Bennet Diaries featured a birthday celebration and the moment that fans have been eagerly awaiting since its inception.

‘The Lizzie Bennet Diaries’ weekly recap

Lizzie’s video: ‘Special Delivery’

Lizzie (Ashley Clements) is rocking a Jane-esque (Laura Spencer) hairstyle in her Monday video and teases the audience with a leading question about a mysterious visit in the rain. Charlotte (Julia Cho) visited Lizzie to celebrate their shared twenty-fifth birthday. Charlotte gripes about Lizzie’s costume for her and thinks Lizzie is in need of a distraction from a certain someone. It looks like Lizzie will be creating her own pseudo-company to shadow for her thesis. Lizzie admits she is disappointed that Darcy (Daniel Vincent Gordh) has not responded to her awkward voicemail after three days. In a big leap for Lizzie she admits that Darcy deserved more from her, while Charlotte wisely points out that she deserved more from him as well. While Lizzie ruminates on the unlikelihood of her getting a second chance, Darcy shows up instead of the expected delivery man. With an intense cliffhanger, the episode ends with his voice. What did you think of the episode? Do you think Lizzie is too pessimistic?

Birthday Tweets from Charlotte and Lizzie

The friendship between Charlotte and Lizzie has been one of the well-developed surprises of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Whereas in the book, their friendship is not as strong after Charlotte marries Mr. Collins, in the webseries Charlotte remains a reliable friend and sounding board for Lizzie. It was cute to see the best friends exchange birthday tweets via Twitter. We have to ask though. Why weren’t the other characters wishing at least Lizzie a happy birthday?

Gigi Darcy freaks out about her brother

Throughout The Lizzie Bennet Diaries the relationship between Gigi (Allison Paige) and Darcy has been well-developed and a point of cuteness for the series. Gigi accordingly freaked out this week after watching Lizzie’s latest video and not hearing from her brother for a few days. She expressed her hurt through her Twitter feed and This is My Jam account. Gigi has relied on Darcy in the past and wants him to be happy. As viewers know, Gigi and Fitz (Craig Frank) have teamed up to try to make Dizzie happen. Are you glad that Darcy and Lizzie are talking on their own volition or do you wish Gigi and Fitz had a role in it?

Lizzie’s video: ‘Gratitude’

Lizzie stalls by asking how her viewers are in her latest video “Gratitude”. Thank goodness she decides to drop the act and share what happened. With one of the best lines of the series, “I thought you were Chinese”, Lizzie appears overwhelmed by Darcy’s presence. Darcy seemed surprise to realize it was Lizzie’s birthday and can’t stop staring at the pretty birthday girl. Darcy seems a bit self-conscious and wants to know why Lizzie called him. It seems like he wants to make sure that she likes him or wants to be friends with him for who he is, not for his wealth. Darcy lays out his feelings and offers just to be friends if that’s what Lizzie wants. She responds with a kiss to shut him up. They engage in a full-on makeout session. The two clear up their confusion and Lizzie can’t seem to wipe her grin off of her face. Did you miss a certain Mr. Darcy? What did you think of their kisses? Are you more in love with Darcy than ever?
