The new characters keep rolling in on Teen Wolf for season 3, and this time we’re learning about one of the new Betas in town.
E! Online got the scoop, saying that with all the new Alphas in town, there are bound to be some Betas running around as well. Considering Alphas need a pack in order to grow stronger, it stands to reason that an Alpha Pack with Betas in tow is going to be one tough enemy to beat.
In episode 3×08, we’ll be meeting one Beta in particular. This is one of Deucalion’s lackeys, a werewolf by the name of Marco who is, “volatile, angry and not afraid to confront an Alpha.” The Alpha in question is probably Derek, who we now know is the main target of the Alpha Pack. Considering they actually want to bring Derek into their group, we can’t imagine Deucalion will be sending Marco – or any of his other henchmen – after Derek right away. If Derek refuses, on the other hand, perhaps he’ll be forced to change tactics.
This is not the first bit of information coming out about the highly anticipated episode 3×08, which promises to feature flashbacks of a young Derek Hale. The first bit of major information came at the end of January, when we learned that we would be seeing a 14 or 15-year-old Derek in this episode. This places the flashback sometime before the fire and his interactions with Kate.
Casting news for young Derek came earlier this week. Ian Nelson, who played the Distric 3 tribute in The Hunger Games, will be portraying Derek prior to the time when he lost most of his family in the fire Kate set at his house. E! described this alternate version of the character as a “popular and charming star athlete; this is Derek before disaster struck his family, turning him into a lone werewolf always in search of a new pack.”
