‘Harry Potter’ Tattoos

We’ve all probably considered getting our favorite fandom permanently inked onto our skin, but most of us usually decide not to. The delay of ‘Harry Potter’ has ruined my life

Remember when Warner Bros. committed fan-sin and delayed the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince? This Facebook group did, and they went so far as to say it ruined their entire lives. They thought Warner Bros. was torturing them with the wait time, but clearly this is before they saw the price of the ultimate box set. We imagine their reaction to the delay to be similar to the girl above.

Adoption offer for Tom Felton

One thing we could all probably admit to is wanting the cast of Harry Potter to be a part of our family, whether that’s through marriage or adoption. This fan was so serious about the offer he legally changed his name to Lucius, and his house is called Malfoy Manor. Take a look at the video as Tom explains his situation.

Harry Potter himself!

This guy calls himself Harry Potter, but we’re not fooled! Opening day at Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Most fans remember the first time they imagined their own Harry Potter theme park. “It would be so cool to see a Potter theme park!” thought we, “If only such a place were real.” What we didn’t know was that only a few years later that idea would become reality. Opening day of this park is definitely a moment fans love to remember; it’s when we could finally say to ourselves, “Let’s go to Hogwarts!” and actually accomplish that. In the video above we get a chance to see fans’ reactions to the park for the first time.

Real Quidditch

You know a fandom has dedication when it takes a fictitious sport and creates an entire sports association for it. Yes, it’s a bit less exciting since the broomsticks don’t fly, and bludgers don’t attack as fiercely, but make no mistake: this is a real sport. They’ve got everything from Beaters utilizing dodge balls to cross country-running Snitches, and it’s all a part of the official International Quidditch Association. You think you know Quidditch? Wait until you read the rulebook. Take a look at the trailer above for a peek at what the game looks like.

Creation of Wizard Rock

An entire musical genre based off the works of J.K. Rowling? That’s some pretty crazy fan dedication right there! Also known as “wrock,” this genre was born in 2002 with the band Harry and the Potters and has grown exponentially since. Now there is a plethora of bands like The Remus Lupins and Draco & the Malfoys. Here’s a track that we love from the band Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls.

Fan-made music videos

Written entirely by Harry Potter fans at the University of Michigan, A Very Potter Musical is simply a school performance gone viral, and has lead to a sequel and other productions put on by the same crew and cast. Watch part one of act one above!

It’s been 15 years since Harry Potter was introduced to the muggle world, and they’re crazy fans and moments like these that prove he’s not going anywhere. In the words of J.K. Rowling, “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”
