Marvel has released an extended Guardians of the Galaxy clip which shows Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and the rest of the crew planning to break out of prison.

Guardians of the Galaxy’s first screening premiered last week and the reviews have been incredibly positive. We’ve also seen some beautiful posters featuring the film’s villains, including Karen Gillan as Nebula.

Now we have a five-minute extended clip which showcases each character as they’re brought into prison and begin planning their escape and it looks like they’ll have quite a bit of fun during their escape.

It certainly seems that director James Gunn has nailed his first film with Marvel and possibly more surprising is the fact that everyone seems to think Groot was the highlight of the film during the first reviews of the film.

Odd considering he simply repeats “I am Groot” throughout the film, but we imagine the combination of Groot and Rocket makes for some epic scenes.

Marvel is ramping up its promotion for Guardians of the Galaxy as it heads closer to its world premiere on August 1.

Guardians of the Galaxy’s previous trailer gave us some great looks at Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana, and more importantly, showed us quite a bit more of Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket Raccoon.

Marvel obviously knew that Rocket Raccoon and Groot would be a hit, which is why we’ve seen so much promotion including the unique tag team.

Guardians of the Galaxy’s release date is set for August 1, 2014. Featuring an intergalactic group of Guardians, led by Star-Lord, they make a desperate stand to save the galaxy.

Two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper voices the machine-gun-wielding Rocket Raccoon and is joined by Vin Diesel as the tree-like Groot, with Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan and Dave Bautista filling out the leading roles.
