Having already appeared on Modern Family in February as part of the new gay couple to move in across the street from Mitch and Cam, Colin Hanlon has now been confirmed to be a recurring character on the hit Emmy award-winning show.

Colin Hanlon’s most recent works include playing Edward Cullen in Twilight: The Musical, a one-off musical parody of the Twilight series that premiered in New York to a sold-out audience. He was on Broadway for Rent, in the first North American tour for Wicked, and off Broadway for I Love You Because. He is also part of the main cast for the web series Submissions Only, about a reader for a Broadway casting director who is trying to become an actress herself.

Hanlon told Playbill that he is “super excited” to be joining the show, with his first appearance on the show’s new season set for October 26, Modern Family‘s Halloween episode, “Open House of Horrors.” In the photo below, readers can see him on set and dressed in his Halloween costume.

The Halloween episode focuses on Claire and her attempts to make their Halloween party more “kid friendly,” after complaints about her over-enthusiasm for the holiday. Cam and Mitchell hold their own costume party and Gloria becomes even more hot-headed than usual due to her pregnancy hormones. Photos of the cast’s costumes for the episode were released, which you can view in our previous story.

Modern Family airs Wednesdays on ABC, 9/8c.
