Pretty Little Liars is gearing up to make a comeback— this time at HBO Max where viewers will be plunged into a mystery in a whole new town with new secrets.

Hailing from Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Lindsay Calhoon Bring, the series is set to introduce viewers to an entirely new town, with entirely new secrets.

Though the new series is set to focus on a brand new crop of Little Liars with their very own A to deal with, the HBO Max series is still set within the PLL universe fans have come to know and love.

The streaming service paired its exciting announcement with a very short foreboding trailer that finds the mysterious A warning viewers with a cryptic message: “It’s not what you think, Bitches.”

Original Story (9/2/2020):

A Pretty Little Liars reboot is already in the works– despite the fact that the original adaptation ended merely three years ago.

Here’s a bit of reboot news no one likely saw coming: a new iteration of Pretty Little Liars is officially in the works— and the proposed series already has some major star power spearheading the endeavor behind the scenes.

According to Deadline, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (best knowing for creating The CW’s Riverdale) is teaming up with Alloy Entertainment to develop a reboot of Pretty Little Liars reboot.

Word that a reboot of the popular Freeform is already in the works will likely come as a bit of a shock to fans of the show— especially given that Freeform’s adaptation of Sarah Shepard’s popular book series only ended back in 2017.

Fans intrigued by the prospect of a PLL reboot should’t expect to see reworked versions of Spencer, Hanna, Aria, Emily, Alison, and Mona if and when the reworked rendition hits the small screen.

Instead, Aguirre-Sacasa’s version would reportedly feature a brand new story with a brand new cast of characters.

As the reboot is currently in the very early stages of development, there aren’t many more details to go off of. That being said, if and when the series finds a home and gets the green light, it’ll be interesting to see what the Riverdale show runner’s take on PLL ends up being.
