In addition to a new Super Mario Bros. entry, you can expect to see the debut of the long-awaited Pikmin 3 at this year’s E3, also.

The news came as part of the same interview with the Spanish newspaper El Mundo that the Mario announcement came out of. Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed the game has been moved on to the Wii U platform.

…as we’ve been working on Wii U hardware and I’ve been looking at those high-definition graphics and that beautiful controller, I’ve been getting the feeling I wanted to see Pikmin there instead.

Nintendo confirmed the comments to Game Informer yesterday. “In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Pikmin game will be shown at the E3 Expo in June,” the company said. “He believes that anyone who has played Pikmin games in the past will enjoy playing.”

Are you more excited for a Mario Wii U game or more Pikmin at last?
