Multiple sources are confirming that Glee star Naya Rivera has been dropped from her record label Columbia Records.

Update: Rivera’s publicist has passed along a statement denying the Billboard report…

The newest story claiming that Naya Rivera was dropped from her recording contract with Columbia Records is absolutely false. If the ‘news’ outlets who put out this story had bothered to contact anyone from her team they would have learned this was false. To be clear, any rumors or statements made as fact, that Naya Rivera was fired or let go from ‘Glee’ or dropped from her recording contract, are categorically false. Someone obviously has an agenda to damage Naya’s good name and the media are failing at their duty to responsibly vet their sources and verify what is true and what is not. Naya’s attorneys are prepared to take any and all legal action to enforce and protect her rights.

The news comes from Billboard.com, who have multiple sources that have confirmed the news of the Glee star’s departure from the label.

Naya Rivera signed with Columbia Records in 2011 and released a debut single titled “Sorry” with her then boyfriend Big Sean. The song failed to make any traction.

This news comes off the heels of a series of unfortunate events for Naya. She was engaged to Big Sean before calling off the engagement only a few months ago.

Then this week it was reported that Naya had been fired from Glee, and that she would not appear in the Glee season 5 finale. Rumors have been swirling for years that she and star Lea Michele did not get along, which led to a huge blow-up on set recently, causing her dismissal from the show. A rep for Rivera says that these claims are not true, however.

Regardless of whatever is going on with her personal and professional life, there’s no doubt that Naya Rivera is beloved within the Glee fandom. It would be a shame to disappoint the fans and see her career come to a sudden halt.

Glee is currently wrapping up its fifth season, while next season will be its sixth and final one as the series comes to a close.

It seems like something fishy is going on here. What are your thoughts on Naya Rivera’s string of bad news?
