Margaret Stohl announced her new book deal with Disney at the What’s Hot in YA panel at San Diego Comic-Con. She even created a new hashtag that has people talking: #MarvelYA.

With everyone talking about the Marvel Cinematic Universe it comes as no surprise that Disney publishing wants in on the action. While there is little information regarding what or who Stohl will be writing about it is definitely connected to the Marvel world.

Stohl is well prepared for writing in the Marvel universe as she used to write stories for video games. Two of her projects included Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four.

A longtime veteran of the videogame industry, Stohl’s work includes – to name a few – Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Dune 2000, and The Pirates of the Carribean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow.

After working with Activision (now Activision/Blizzard) and Westwood Studios (now EA), Margaret became a co-founder of 7 Studios with her husband, Lewis Peterson. She has previously been nominated for “Most Innovative Game Design” at the Game Developers Conference. Stohl’s most recent work is the Icons series in which the second novel was just released.

There is little information available about the book, but we will be bringing you up to date news as it is available. Which hero would you like to see written about in a YA novel?
