Godzilla hits stores today on DVD and Blu-ray featuring an incredible origin story of Godzilla. The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston.

Godzilla was a monster hit at the box office, taking in $524 million worldwide and rumors of a sequel have surfaced recently.

The film comes in multiple formats, including DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D. Our review unit was the Blu-ray, which featured a beautiful version of the film with some incredible global landscapes.

Godzilla hit theaters back in May, 2014 and was fairly well received by moviegoers and critics. The film currently holds a 73% on Rottentomatoes and its box office rose over half a billion during its few months at theaters.

My only complaint while watching the film at home was that the fight scenes between Godzilla and the M.U.T.O.s were visibly dark. Using a plasma screen one would assume the dark scenes would be a shining moment, but they seemed dull and difficult to make out.

The rest of the film was as good as seen in the theater and the sound quality on Blu-ray was, as always, impeccable.
