How far can Frozen go in the all-time worldwide box office?
According to Box Office Mojo, Frozen‘s $373 thousand this weekend was enough to push it into ninth place in the worldwide box office, just beating The Dark Knight Rises.
Frozen‘s total gross at the box office now is now nearly $1.1 billion, a number that is significantly higher than its $150 million budget. How high can it go? Realistically, it can’t go too much higher. It took a release on DVD and Blu-ray to stop people from going to the theater to see it, and most major international markets have seen it now too.

Frozen had recently become the top grossing animated film of all-time, and it just keeps bringing in the money.

Disney has said that the DVD and Blu-ray release has been one of the biggest selling home entertainment successes in at least a decade. They haven’t released those numbers, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Frozen at least a few more places higher on that list. It’s a movie people are wanting to see again and again, and it truly is a great success for Disney.
Disney is obviously looking at ways to continue banking on the success of Frozen, and one of those options will include a Frozen musical on Broadway. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see a sequel to Frozen, especially after Wreck-it Ralph, another recent Disney animated film, was announced as having a second movie in the works.
