Set to composer Jeremy Zuckerman’s spine-tingling score, the Legend of Korra season 3 trailer is packed with moments that are sure to leave fans salivating over their electronic devices.

In addition to amazing shots of the Krew in action – Korra, Asami, and Lin Bei Fong stand out as particularly thrilling – the Legend of Korra season 3 trailer also includes several new characters. Early on, Korra spars with a woman in green; later a young woman with an eerily familiar tattoo of an eye on her forehead appears as the music grows darker, and a calculating older woman who may be the promised Earth Queen makes an appearance as well.

Familiar characters are returning, too. An airbending Bumi, Korra’s cousin Eska, urchin Skoochy, and… oh yeah, is that Zuko?

(We totally think it’s Zuko.)

It also looks like The Legend of Korra season 3 will be positively brimming with villains. Between the young tattooed lady, the persistent presence of Ba Sing Se’s Dai Li, and all those fiery explosions toward the end of the trailer, we have to think that Korra will be facing more challenging enemies than ever before.

(But at least she’ll have Zuko.)

For a preview that many fans speculate may have been organized in response to unaired episodes leaked by Nickelodeon’s Spanish-language affiliate, the Legend of Korra season 3 trailer is enormously evocative. Thrilling, chilling, and just plain awesome, the preview for Book 3: Change is just the shot in the arm the fandom has so badly needed.

So how do we feel? Well, kind of like this:

Though no release date was included in the The Legend of Korra trailer, we speculate that between the completion of the entirety of Book 3 and the rapid approach of San Diego Comic-Con, Korra fans will not have very much longer to wait before a date is finally announced.
