In case you haven’t heard, the New York Times  besteller Fifty Shades of Grey has been kind of a big deal over the last few weeks. Articles about the books have ranged from questioning their content to being amazed by how women respond to them. Now, the trilogy has been optioned for film.

From Deadline:

Ending the wildest book to movie auction in recent and distant memory, Universal Pictures and Focus Features have acquired screen rights to the E.L. James’ steamy novel 50 Shades of Grey. Focus Features will marketing and distribute the film in partnership with Universal Pictures, whose co-chairman Donna Langley heavily pursued the book.

It is very interesting that this series has become so popular, considering it started out as Twilight fan fiction.  It is not the first fan fiction to be converted into a novel and sell movie rights, but it definitely is one of the most talked about.

Do you think Fifty Shades of Grey will make a good movie?
