Any fan of the hit HBO show Entourage will know that a movie has been long-rumored but has not yet come to fruition since the show went off the air last year.

Hypable has now learned from a source close to the production that the film is eyeing a January 2013 start date, with a script currently underway from creator Doug Ellin.

As executive producer Mark Wahlberg recently told The Today Show, a script is in production and they are fast-tracking the film towards a release. Hypable has learned that the production is gearing up to shoot in January 2013.

Back in January, Wahlberg spoke to GQ about what sort of things we can expect from an Entourage movie:

I think a 90-minute movie of sheer craziness—the guys getting back to just being about the guys, you know? Lose the ladies. Go crazy. Give people what they want.

Jeremy Piven added his own two cents in on the discussion, particularly relating to the after-credits scene during the finale of the show which gives his character, Ari Gold, a bit of a decision to make:

We’re teed up for a movie in a way that, you know, Ari has this conundrum that he’s facing, which is either to rule the world or to honor his love to his wife.

Given the rocky production so far, this date should be taken with a grain of salt. But considering they have a date set at the moment, expect to see a finished product in the not-too-distant future. Are you excited to see an Entourage movie?
