CinemaCon was held over the past few days in Las Vegas for movie theater owners to see previews of what’s ahead from the studios.

There were several small stories to come out of CinemaCon that don’t necessarily warrant their own article, so here’s a round up of things that happened that are of interest to our readers:

No news about Star Wars: At Disney’s panel on Wednesday, the studio stayed mum about Episode VII even though the film begins shooting in London this May. We’ve yet to hear any official casting announcements besides R2D2. “Patience you must have,” Alan Horn said to attendees. So what do we know? Click here to find out.

New Fault in Our Stars footage: An extended trailer for the upcoming book to film adaptation debuted during Fox’s panel on Thursday and Shailene Woodley was there to introduce the preview. “I think Fox is sort of pioneering a new revolution in having a young female lead of a movie,” the actress told the audience. Various tweets from the presentation indicated that the new trailer was very strong. “Extended FAULT IN OUR STARS trailer: will I stop crying at all during this movie? Imagine I’ll weep from frame one onwards,” wrote one critic on Twitter. A featurette for the film debuted online last week with new footage.

Warner Bros. mentions Fantastic Beasts: During their panel Thursday, WB made very brief mention of their upcoming Harry Potter spinoff series penned by J.K. Rowling. They only noted that it was in the pipeline, and did not go into specifics concerning when we can expect to see it in theaters. They didn’t discuss any films beyond 2015.

In related fantasy news, Warner Bros. previewed The Hobbit finale There and Back Again with a reportedly very small amount of brand new footage.

Although attendees had the chance to see many new clips from various upcoming movies, this year’s CinemaCon was short on major announcements.
