The latest in book news
-Amazon is expanding their brick and mortar bookstores into Chicago!
-What’s next for Barnes and Noble? A new CEO that’s for sure.
-Disney options Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy. We address our very limited concerns.
Ursula Le Guin is one sassy lady and a totally kickass author who is going to be added to the Library of America.
Blood Defense by Marcia Clark is coming to TV! The former prosecutor from the O.J. Simpson case has become a very successful author and now her work is hitting the screen.
-Michelle MacLaren, former Wonder Woman director, will be adapting The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah for the big screen! We’ll definitely be checking this one out.
-Unfortunately, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are starring in a Sherlock Holmes movie called Holmes & Watson. We are not happy. So, so not happy.
-Do you know what the Donner Party is? Well, we discuss how FOX has acquired the rights to a novel all about the cannabalistic pioneers that may have a bit of a Walking Dead-esque twist.
-So much Cormoran Strike news. First of all, we’re getting closer to a release date for the fourth novel in the series, so yay! Also, they have cast Cormoran for the BBC Series, which will cover the first 3 novels in the first season.
-Netflix is adapting Anne of Green Gables for it’s next original series. Will you be tuning in?
Seth Grahame-Smith is being sued by Hachette. The reasons behind the lawsuit don’t really make a whole lot of sense.
-Lincoln’s book will not be the last Oxford novel! Lauren Layne has another Oxford book listed on Amazon that we have never heard of before. There is no information on it, just a cover and a title. Let the speculation begin!
-Lastly, but certainly never least, make sure to check out this entertaining video from the geniuses of Shipwrecked Comedy. Some of our favorite classic authors get together for a murder mystery night and hilarity ensues.
