Zoe Kravitz will soon find herself squaring off against the Caped Crusader on the silver screen.
According to The Wrap, actress Zoe Kravitz has been cast in the coveted role of Catwoman in director Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
Sources say that in addition to Kravitz, actresses Ana de Armas, Ella Balinska, and Eiza Gonzalez were also all in the running to play one of Gotham City’s most notorious baddies.
Eventually, it was Kravitz who scored the part following what is being described as a rigorous testing process, which included a read opposite actor Robert Pattinson.
Pattinson was announced to be taking over the role of Batman from Ben Affleck back in May for the Caped Crusader’s next big screen film.
As for Kravitz, she’s the latest in a slew of big names that are already attached to star in Reeves’ upcoming film.
In addition to Pattinson, other actors who are reportedly set to board the project include Westworld star Jeffrey Wright, plus actor Jonah Hill.
Just last month, it was revealed that Wright was currently in talks to assume the role of Batman’s trusty ally, Commissioner Gordon.
Meanwhile, Jonah Hill is reportedly in talks to join the cast in a villain role. There’s no word yet which of Batman’s notorious enemies Hill might portray if he officially signs on.
Between Zoe Kravitz, Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, and Jonah Hill, it definitely sounds as though the cast of director Matt Reeves’ The Batman is coming together quite quickly now.
We can’t wait to find out who else gets tapped for the Caped Crusader’s next big silver screen installment!
The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on June 29, 2021.
