Fans have eagerly been waiting more news on the X-Men sequel and some exciting news has finally arrived! SuperHeroHype is now reporting that Simon Kinberg would be writing the anticipated sequel to X-Men: First Class!
Super Hero Hype reports:
[We have] learned that Simon Kinberg is writing the sequel to 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: First Class, which has earned over $350 million since opening in theaters this June.
Kinberg already has a background in the franchise, serving as Producer on X-Men: First Class as well as writing the script for X-Men: The Last Stand, as well as numerous other films including Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Sherlock Holmes.
As production on the film and its script are still in the early stages, details on the project remain mostly unknown. Whether director Matthew Vaughn or any of the previous cast will return has yet to be announced, although due to the success of X-Men: First Class, Fox will try to bring back as many of the cast and crew as possible.
We do find it a bit odd that that they are bringing a different writer on board. What are your thoughts on Kinberg writing the sequel?
