Hollywood’s latest Tom Clancy adaptation has found its director in Stefano Sollima.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has tapped Sicario: Day of the Soldado helmer Stefano Sollima to serve as director on Without Remorse.
The upcoming adaptation is based off of author Tom Clancy’s bestselling novel, Without Remorse, which centers character John Clark.
The upcoming adaptation gained quite a bit of buzz earlier this year when it was reported that Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan would be stepping into the role of John Clark.
Clark is an ex-Navy SEAL and director of Rainbow Six — an elite counter terrorism unit.
Overall, the character has appeared in a whopping total of 17 of Clancy’s novels which is great for Paramount as the studio is hoping that Without Remorse will be the first in a series of action films centered on the popular Clancy character.
The studio is also simultaneously working on adapting Clancy’s Rainbow Six — the second of their Clark-centric series — for the big screen.
In addition to starring in the film, Jordan will also serve as producer on the project alongside Akiva Goldsman, Josh Applebaum, and Corin Nemec.
There’s currently no word on who the studio will tap to write the screenplay for the upcoming adaptation.
