If you’ve ever wanted a signed copy of one of Rick Riordan’s books, now’s your chance. A whopping 10,000 copies will be available for Black Friday.

Riordan’s schedule has stayed pretty steady over the last decade, starting with the publishing of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief back in 2005. Every year, he puts out one or two books, goes on tour for about a week in the fall, and continues writing the rest of the time.

That makes getting a signed copy of one of his books fairly difficult. Unless you live in or around a major city or have the time and money to travel, it’s not easy to attend one of his talks and get the chance for a pre-signed book or graphic novel.

Luckily, this year all you need is a Barnes & Noble and a very, very loud alarm clock. For Black Friday, Riordan has signed 10,000 copies of The Sword of Summer, which you can watch him do below.

It’s a good thing his signature isn’t elaborate.

According to B&N’s website, “Beginning on Black Friday, November 27, all Barnes & Noble stores nationwide will feature a limited quantity of books autographed by Ree Drummond, Diana Gabaldon, Mindy Kaling, Khloe Kardashian, David McCullough, Tyler Oakley, Ransom Riggs, Rick Riordan, Brandon Stanton and many more acclaimed authors, while supplies last.”

Although it doesn’t look like Riordan participated, some authors added special additions to certain signed copies: “New Zealand illustrator Kristina Webb spent over an hour creating an intricate drawing inside one signed copy of Color Me Creative. Children’s author Nancy Tillman personalized every 100th copy of her book On the Night You Were Born with affirmations and illustrations. Bestselling crime author Lorenzo Carcaterra (The Wolf) wrote a special note in a dozen of the thousands of books he signed for customers to find at Barnes & Noble.”

Over half a million books have been signed and will be available for those lining up early Friday morning. Find further details and watch more videos of authors signing their books on the bookstore’s website.

Will you be getting up early to grab a signed copy of ‘The Sword of Summer’?
