Harry Potter fans are talking about two things J.K. Rowling said on Twitter this week.
Voldemor…t
The first tweet concerns the pronunciation of “Voldemort,” the evil wizard in the Harry Potter series. Rowling revealed that she pronounces it “Voldemore” (silent “T”), which set off a big debate amongst fans. As the author herself noted, she’s the only one who pronounces it this way:
@Universe_Box One piece of Harry Potter trivia I always forget to mention: the "t" is silent in Voldemort, according to @jk_rowling.

… but I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who pronounces it that way. https://t.co/HxhJ5XY5HP

Rowling’s “new” comments aren’t exactly new, but that can be assumed because the tweet from Michael makes note of this “trivia” (i.e. something we already knew). Nonetheless, a debate has flared up since the revelation is finally being seen by the masses. Why didn’t they say it this way in the movies?
The ‘Age of Hufflepuff’
Rowling also made Hufflepuffs very happy this week when she noted that we’re in a special age for the badger-themed house, noting that Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts is a ‘puff:

This is starting to feel like the dawn of the Age of Hufflepuff… #FantasticBeasts https://t.co/j4kj2nYurr

The way Jo worded this tweet makes us wonder: May we see multiple prominent Hufflepuffs in Fantastic Beasts?
A word on reporting on Jo’s tweets
Frequent followers of Hypable know we love to write about J.K. Rowling’s best and most interesting tweets. I didn’t find these two remarks the most incredibly post-worthy, but everyone’s talking about them so I thought, “Why the hell not?”
I’ve been counting down the days until April Fool’s because I plan to write a “story” about J.K. Rowling live-tweeting her pooping. It will be a nod to all the news outlets who write about any stupid little thing the Queen tweets.
