Venom 2 has added a brand new cast member to its ranks.
According to Deadline, actor Stephen Graham (best known for his award winning role in Boardwalk Empire), has joined the cast of Sony’s upcoming Venom sequel.
News of Graham’s involvement on Venom 2 comes just a few months after word that actress Naomie Harris has also signed on to join the cast.
The studio has yet to confirm who Harris will play in the sequel, but rumor has it that the Skyfall alum is set to play Spider-Man villain, Shriek.
As for Graham, details surrounding his role in the film are being kept firmly under wraps for the time being.

Both Graham and Harris join previously announced cast members Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, and Woody Harrelson, all of whom have signed on to reprise their roles as Eddie Brock/Venom, Anne Weying, and Cletus Kasady, respectively.
Behind the camera, there’s been a bit of a switch up in the director’s chair. Though the first installment of Sony’s blockbuster hit was helmed by Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, Fletcher won’t be returning to direct the sequel.
Instead, Venom 2 will be helmed by Andy Serkis, who was announced to be directing the sequel back in August.
Sony’s Venom 2 is slated to hit theaters on October 2, 2020.
As for Stephen Graham, fans of the actor can currently catch him starring opposite Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci in director Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, streaming now on Netflix.
