Prepare to bid farewell to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It looks like the comedy series’ upcoming fourth season might very well be its last.
According to Deadline, Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will officially come to a close after this year’s fourth season.
News of the series finale comes just a few weeks before the show is set to make its grand return to the online streaming platform. It also comes on the same day as the release of a slew of first look content for season 4.
In a press release sent out by Netflix on Thursday (May 3), the platform gave fans a first look at the new season, which features the ever cheerful Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) making her way to the first day of her new job as HR manager of Giztoob.
The super fun title sequence gives off some major ’90s main title sequence nostalgia vibes. It also feature an original song called “Little Girl, Big City” performed by none other than Jane Krakowski, who plays Jacqueline White on the series.

Though season 4 might mark the end of the series, it may not be the last time we see Kimmy, Titus, and the rest of the gang.
As Deadline reports, both Netflix and Universal Television are currently in talks to wrap up the final chapter of Kimmy’s story with a movie.
The plan is for the movie to be written by series co-creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. If plans for a movie go through, Fey and Carlock would begin working on it after they wrap on the series’ current season.
Given that season 4 of Kimmy Schmidt is still in production, it sounds like we’ll have quite a wait ahead of us before a potential movie hits the internet.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt season 4 is set to premiere via Netflix in two parts. The first part, which consists of six episodes, will premiere on Wednesday, May 30.
