As we’ve been telling you, Lionsgate’s acquisition of Summit (and their Twilight property) brought the CEO of the enhanced parent company to say he’d be very interested in creating additional Twilight films if Stephenie Meyer were to write more books.
But Meyer has absolutely no plans for that, it now seems.
A reporter from Variety tweeted the following this evening:
HUNGER GAMES presales begin tomorrow; early tracking shows it outpacing the first TWILIGHT pic. My theory as to why: Safe for boys. As long as we’re on topic: Stephenie Meyer was deeply annoyed that LG brass said they’d do more TWILIGHT pics. She has no such intention.
We’re unsure of how he got this information about Meyer’s reaction, but we trust his accuracy.
Fans shouldn’t be surprised by the author’s lack of intention to write new Twilight books. She has said numerous times in the past that she’s ready to move on from vampires.
Thanks to His Golden Eyes for the tip.
Earlier today, Rob Pattinson shared his thoughts on the topic of additional films.
