Tig Notaro has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead to play a role originally assumed by fellow comedian Chris D’Elia.
According to Variety, comedian Tig Notaro has been cast in director Zack Snyder’s forthcoming zombie film, Army of the Dead.
Notaro is a last minute addition to the cast of the movie, which includes the likes of Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, and Ana de la Reguera,. The comedian has been brought on board to replace Chris D’Elia (You), following recent sexual misconduct allegations.
D’Elia was accused of sexually harassing multiple women— some under the age of 18— this past June. Specifically, the comedic actor was accused of sending inappropriate and explicit messages to the underaged girls and women in question.
Snyder’s Army of the Dead had already wrapped filming by the time the allegations were brought forth on D’Elia (who has since been dropped from his agency, CAA).
Now that Tig Notaro is on board to replace D’Elia, the plan is for the film to undergo reshoots. The team will reportedly use a combination of green screens and CGI to ensure that Notaro can effectively be added into the final product.
Set to debut via Netflix, Snyder’s forthcoming film focuses on a band of mercenaries gearing up to plan a heist at a Las Vegas casino in the midst of a zombie outbreak.
In addition to serving as director and producer on the project, Snyder also co-write the screenplay alongside Shay Hatten and Joby Harold.
Currently, there’s no word yet on when Netflix plans to premiere Army of the Dead.
