THQ had its annual investor’s call this morning, and it looks like some major changes are ahead for the publisher’s lineup.

The Obsisdian-developed South Park: The Stick of Truth, originally scheduled for this fall, has now been delayed until 2013. No reason was cited for the delay.

The publisher announced Darksiders II will release in August, later specifying a date of August 14, also. The game was originally scheduled to release in June. THQ CEO Brian Farrell noted that pre-orders for the game are five times higher compared to the original Darksiders during the same time period

It was also revealed during the call that famed developer Tomonobu Itagaki’s next title, Devil’s Third, has been dropped by THQ, with the publisher citing the game to “no longer fit THQ’s profitability profile.” THQ is seeking a buyer for the project.

On a positive note, the publisher announced Saint’s Row: The Third shipped 4.25 million units and that “the game has generated the highest digital revenue of any console title in the company’s history.” An expansion for the game, titled Enter the Dominatrix, is scheduled to launch in September as a stand-alone product.

Finally, despite the company’s current financial troubles, Farrell said during the earnings call that the next generation of consoles is a “key part” of the company’s strategy. “We have promising new games that are positioned well for introduction early in the next cycle. We also have several franchises that we can continue to build from the current to the next-generation.”
