Lady Sif actress Jaimie Alexander has revealed that her character will be a major part of Thor: Ragnarok, and that Captain America: Civil War will tie into the third Thor movie.
Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif is one of the most popular female superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and she has a niche fanbase who are die-hard fans. Finding out that Lady Sif will have a big role in Thor: Ragnarok is very exciting, and learning that Civil War will tie into her movie is even more interesting.
While speaking to the L.A. Times for her new TV show Blindspot, the actress said, “Marvel, I think on purpose, they don’t tell me certain things. Because they know I’ll be like, ‘So here’s what’s gonna happen.’ But I do know I will be in Thor 3 and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can’t tell you what because I’ll get shot.”
It’s funny to hear Alexander talking about her inability to keep Marvel’s secrets, but it’s great to hear that Lady Sif will have a large role in Thor: Ragnarok, which will hit theaters November 3, 2017. Then she dropped an even bigger bomb, revealing that Captain America: Civil War will directly tie into the third Thor movie.
The actress was later asked what she thought about Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet being mentioned in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and mentioned that Civil War will still focus on what’s happening outside of Earth, by including many things that will be fleshed out later in Thor: Ragnarok.
Alexander said, “Yeah, there’s a lot of great stuff they’ve peppered in through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Avengers, Captain will have some stuff. There’s just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you’re really paying attention. They’re so good at interweaving everything throughout those films.”
She brings up a good point about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., that it helps bring together some of the Marvel films as well, and even Ant-Man had some links to future Marvel films despite being the start of its own story.
Thor: Ragnarok is kind of a toss up, as we don’t really know what the film will be like. By the time it hits theaters in 2017, a lot of things will have changed in the MCU, so it’s exciting to think about Captain America: Civil War tying into the movie.
More of Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif is always a good thing, as she brings such a breath of fresh air to the films, and we look forward to seeing how big of a role she’ll have in Thor: Ragnarok. We hope she’ll make it into an Avengers movie in the future as well, seeing as the studio aims to bring in a few more ladies into the Avengers.
