The Walking Dead returns tonight, and to celebrate here are some of our favorite quotes from the sassy Rosita Espinosa!
Much of Rosita’s life before she met up with Rick’s crew is a mystery. It’s clear that she’s quite skilled with weapons and has the right attitude for survival. However, she doesn’t seem to form deep connections with those around her. Rosita remains friendly and loyal, but don’t expect to sit down and have a deep conversation with her.
At the end of season 6 Rosita and Daryl tried to save Glenn and Michonne from the Saviors, only to be caught themselves. She was brought out with the other members of Rick’s group when Negan was deciding who to make an example of, and we still don’t know who he picked. If Rosita is spared it’s likely that she’ll play a big role in fighting the Saviors.
‘The Walking Dead’ Rosita Espinosa quotes:
- Rosita: [Rosita combs Abraham’s hair] It’s getting a little messy for you.
Abraham: Gettin’ ready for retirement. Relaxin’ the grooming standards. Thinkin’ about becomin’ a plumber, a sheepherder, or something.
Rosita: You ain’t herding sheep now, Abraham. Eyes on the prize.
— 5×05, “Self Help”
- Tara: Were you with Abraham before it all happened?
Rosita: No. No, I was with other people just trying to make it.
Glenn: How did you wind up together?
Rosita: We crossed paths in Dallas. Me and my group, we were fighting off some dead ones and he jumped in from out of nowhere with that big truck. Rest in peace. He had Eugene in the cab. And afterwards, he told me that he was trying to save the world. And then he saw what I could do, and he wanted my help. He was the first person to ask me for that since this all started, maybe he was lying too.
— 5×07, “Crossed”
- Tara: So all we found was booze?
Tara: It’s not gonna help.
Rosita: He knows that.
Tara: It’s gonna make it worse.
Rosita: Yes it is.
Eugene: He’s a grown man, and I truly do not know if things can get worse.
Rosita: They can.
- Spencer: Is this what it’s like? Out there?
Rosita: Pretty much.
Spencer: How do you live in a world like that?
Rosita: This group, and Abraham, and this place. Make sure you’ve got something worth dying for.
— 6×02, “JSS”
- Eugene: I’m a weapons novice, and there are people in my immediate proximity with open-toed shoes.
Rosita: That’s right, so get a grip. What are you so scared of?
Eugene: That would be dying.
Rosita: Dying is simple, it all just stops. You’re dead. The people around you dying, that’s the hard part. Okay? ‘Cause you keep living knowing that they’re gone and you’re still here. What you should be scared of is living knowing that you didn’t do everything you could to keep them here. Too upset to keep going? Are the noises scaring you or can I get back to my lesson?
— 6×07, “Heads Up”
- Rosita: You think this is it?
Rosita: Do you think this place is over?
Tara: No. I think we gotta earn it, all of us. Whether it’s waiting, knowing if everyone’s safe, dealing with that, or fighting them. A place like this has gotta have a price, right?
Rosita: We haven’t paid it already?
Tara: Apparently not.
— 6×08, “Start To Finish”
- Eugene: Sooner or later, we’re fighting our way out. I know you’re fully aware that we will.
Rosita: Yeah, we will. Not you.
Eugene: Well, by my reckoning…
Rosita: Come on.
— 6×09, “No Way Out”
- Rosita: It’s from the fuel truck, had to crack the brake light.
Abraham: You made this?
Rosita: Thought your neck looked a little lonely.
Abraham: Rosita, you are damn near perfection, you know that?
Rosita: Show me, in the shower.
— 6×11, “Knots Untie”
- Rosita: After everything we’ve been through, you are not walking out that door unless you can tell me why! Tell me! Tell me why!
Abraham: When I first met you, I thought you were the last woman on Earth. You’re not.
— 6×12, “Not Tomorrow Yet”
- Denise: Who taught you? You know, how to fight? Sorry, I didn’t mean to bring up…
Rosita: A lot of people taught me a lot of things. Years from now, we’ll just be a name in a long list of names.
— 6×14, “Twice As Far”
