The Simpsons’ future at Fox is officially secured!

On Wednesday (March 3), Fox announced that it has officially renewed its classic adult animated series, The Simpsons for not one— but two more seasons.

That the series has been renewed for seasons 33 and 34 means that fans of the long-running animated hit can rest easy knowing they can expect new episodes of the show to run at Fox through 2023.

“Woo-hoo! We’ve been renewed for season 33 and 34 on Fox!” tweeted the series shortly after the network announced the good news.

In a statement announcing the double season renewal, creator and executive producer Matt Groening said everyone on the team is looking forward to creating new episodes for the beloved animated comedy.

“Everyone at The Simpsons is thrilled to be renewed once more, and we are planning lots of big surprises,” said Groening. “Homer will lose a hair, Milhouse will get contact lenses, and Bart will celebrate his tenth birthday for the thirty-third time.”

Added fellow executive producer, James L. Brooks: “My biggest move was in the very beginning when I decided to never uncross my fingers.”

When The Simpsons reaches the end of season 34, it will bring the show’s total episode count up to a whopping 757 episodes.

That’s still a ways away though. In the mean time, fans of the hit animated series can look forward to checking out a brand new episode from the current season on March 7.

Titled “Yokel Hero,” this week’s episode will find Cletus becoming a singing sensation, while Homer becomes a new man. Then Cletus turns on his fans, ruining everything. Look out for Albert Brooks, who is set to make a guest-voice appearance on the episode in question.

The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
