We now know at least one of the sires appearing in The Originals season 3, and who will be playing him.
A few weeks ago at SDCC we learned that the sires would be playing a huge part in The Originals season 3. Thanks to this report from The Hollywood Reporter, we now know that Klaus’ sire will be named Lucien, and he will be played by Andrew Lees, who previously worked with Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt on a handful of episodes of H2O: Just Add Water.
Lucien is described as, “intelligent, charming, wildly successful and at ease with princes and paupers alike. He prides himself on being two steps ahead of everyone else.” While we know that Lucien will be antagonizing the hell out of his sire this year, we have yet to know whom the other two sires will be.
We also learned that Rebecca Breeds (of Pretty Little Liars fame) will be playing a character named Aurora, who seems to have two very different sides to her. She is not listed as a sire of any of the big three, but they do describe her as “sexy, seductive, witty and free-spirited — the life of the party. However, she also has a dark side, and is also known for being malevolent, dangerous and extremely violent.”
It would be interesting to say the least if Aurora ended up being Rebecca’s first sire, as it would appear that each of the Originals stuck within their gender when choosing their first victims.
Also, she seems to have a lot in common with Rebekah, as the above description could easily describe Rebekah in a lot of ways too.
We can’t wait to see what kinds of havoc these two new characters will wreak in the Quarter.
The Originals season 3 premiere airs October 8, 2015 on the CW.
