There’s a glimmer of hope that 2018 might be better than 2017, as NBC is reportedly preparing to revive The Office.
In early 2017, Steve Carell sent the entire The Office fandom into a frenzy when he teased that the show was making a comeback. It was later revealed that he was actually just messing with everyone.
But it looks like NBC might have taken notice to how many people wanted the show back. According to TVLine NBC is looking at reviving the show (as a continuation of the original) for the 2018-2019 season!
The revival is said to be set back at the Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton office and would have some of the original cast back as well as some newcomers. However, Steve Carell would not be back to portray cooky Michael Scott. NBC is reportedly already looking into someone that could fill his shoes.
With the recent success of the Will & Grace revival, the network certainly has reason to believe that this could be a big hit for them again. Personally, I think it will greatly depend on which cast members agree to return to the series.
Pam and Jim were definitely favorite characters on the show but it seems unlikely John Krasinski would return either. Maybe Jenna Fischer could be worked into the storyline on her own if she agrees to come back?
Either way it would be great fun to see this show back in action and giving its fans more episodes to watch.
