After a five-year absence, The Hush Sound is back with a full roundup of spring tour dates and a preview of the group’s catchy new single, “Not a Stranger.” Listen here!
Fans have anxiously been awaiting the return of The Hush Sound, an indie-pop powerhouse that broke onto the scene with 2005’s album, So Sudden.
The group, consisting of Greta Morgan, Bob Morris, Chris Faller, and Darren Wilson, has been on hiatus since 2009 and hasn’t released any new music since 2008. After a few shows in the fall of 2012 and a visit to SXSW, The Hush Sound has now officially announced its comeback. The band’s new music, according to a press release, has “all of the charm and brightness that brought them success in the past, this time with a more mature and refined sound.”
One of the new singles, “Not a Stranger,” premiered yesterday on The A.V Club. The song is upbeat and energetic, but has more depth and development than The Hush Sound’s past music, as promised. Take a listen here.
The second single, “Scavengers,” is now available for purchase on Rhapsody. If you don’t have Rhapsody, you can still preview a few seconds of the song here.
Both “Not a Stranger” and “Scavengers” are available to purchase from the band’s website starting at $1 or more – it’s name your price. Both singles will also be available to purchase on a seven-inch vinyl during the band’s spring tour.
The Hush Sound will be joined by Hockey on tour. Tickets for the tour are now up for pre-sale and will also be available for general sale on Friday, March 22.
